Message from Head of the Department

The department of Zoology was established in 2018. Zoology is the field of solid science and science of animal kingdom is the most fascinating subject. Zoology is a major subject under the umbrella of biological sciences that plays an important role in the field of Biology. Zoology department offer BS Zoology (4-years), MSc Zoology (Morning and Evening-2 years) Graduate and Post Graduate degree programs will be started in the near future. The department provides advanced knowledge and practical skills to the students through applied and comprehensive courses to make them the pioneers in the field of Zoology. The department of Zoology has high quality research wet Lab equipped with basic and high-tech equipment. This lab standardizes for starting the research work in multiple fields of Zoology like biodiversity, ecology, molecular genetics, medical entomology, microbiology, biotechnology, applied fisheries, parasitology, endocrinology, conservation biology and wildlife for esteemed future. This subject has significant role in human resource development and ultimately in poverty alleviation.

The department aims to be a center of excellence in teaching as well as in diverse areas of research to promote knowledge, skills and expertise in students required to contribute to society as educators, research scientists and administrators.

Mission

To meet the modern need of coming decades, the Department of Zoology is committed to impart updated knowledge, to deliver society-oriented and need-based research, to develop an integrated program to enhance fisheries, wildlife, genetics, biodiversity and aquatic toxicology resources and their management, to hold regular seminars by invited speakers and subject specialists and for the scientific grooming of students and faculty and to develop collaboration both at national and international levels. Our aim is to promote the scientific knowledge, skills and expertise in students to serve as educators, University College teachers, research scientists and administrators to resolve scientific and educational challenges for society.
